What is Infrared Thermography?
Infrared thermography is the practice of measuring the amount of infrared radiation from any given object and converting that information to a visual image called a thermogram. Modern software is used to compile all of the digital infrared image files and serves as a platform for a thermographer to perform thermal tuning and in-depth assessment.

A certified and trained thermographer equipped with an infrared camera can identify problem areas within a building that are otherwise undetectable to the naked eye. Thermal imaging in conjunction with other diagnostics information can then be used to create scheduled maintenance programs that reduce both downtime and the risk of complete equipment failure or property damage.

Why is it important to me?
Simply put, utilizing IR technology as part of a building maintenance program saves money, improves reliability, and increases operating efficiency.

All mechanical and electrical equipment will reach the end of its servicable life cycle and fail at some point in time. While no one knows exactly when failure will happen, most likely these failures will occur at an unplanned moment while the equipment is under the stress of being used. This can lead to safety concerns, costly downtown for emergency repair, or in some instances catastrophic property loss. Thermal imaging is a proven way to detect and prevent failures before they happen.
